Don’t Bite Off More Than You Can Chew

June 11, 2010

If this weight loss journey seems to have been all uphill so far, don’t fret! Don’t bite off more than you can chew! If counting calories seems daunting right now, don’t count calories. Simply make a mental decision to start eating less than you normally would. Or start by adding more water throughout your day. Or start adding exercise into your day little by little. If you are used to being a couch potato, start small. Go for a walk around your block. Do this for a couple nights in a row and try to do it faster each time.

If you are not used to eating 25-30grams of fiber a day, again start small. If you add too much fiber all at once, you could experience a whole new set of problems. Increase your fiber in small increments, adding water along the way also. It’s best to get your fiber from REAL foods and not from things like Metamucil and such. I will be posting soon regarding fiber and how important it is in our overall general health! It’s not a fun, pretty topic to discuss. But ….. it can’t be ignored either! So, you’ll have to forgive me for my preoccupation with colon health!

Much luck to you on Wednesday — our next weight loss day! Remember to weigh yourself in the morning, at the same time with the same clothing BEFORE eating or drinking anything!

Looking forward to you seeing less of me!

Julie
